1 Information We Collect

We collect only the information necessary to provide you with the Momo experience. This falls into three categories:

Information you provide directly:

• Meal photos you choose to capture or import (used solely for AI analysis and never stored on our servers)
• Meal type selections (breakfast, lunch, dinner, snack) and manual adjustments you make
• If you choose to create an account: your email address and display name

Information generated by your use of the app:

• Meal logs and nutritional breakdown data (food group percentages and balance scores)
• Daily and weekly balance scores and streak information
• Achievements, XP, and progress data
• Outfit and customisation selections for your Momo character

Technical information:

• Device type, operating system version, and app version (for compatibility and bug fixing)
• Anonymous crash reports and usage analytics to help us improve the app
• Subscription status (managed by RevenueCat; we do not receive or store payment details)

2 How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect exclusively to provide, maintain, and improve the Momo experience:

• To analyse your meals: Meal photos are sent securely to our AI partner (Google Gemini) for real-time food group analysis. Photos are not retained after analysis is complete.
• To generate your Balance Score: Nutritional data is processed to calculate your daily 0–100 score based on the Harvard Healthy Eating Plate model.
• To provide personalised coaching: If you subscribe to Momo Premium, your eating patterns are used to generate personalised, actionable coaching insights.
• To power progress tracking: Your history, streaks, and achievement data are used to display your progress over time.
• To improve the app: Anonymous, aggregated usage data helps us understand how the app is used and identify areas for improvement.
• To manage subscriptions: If you purchase Momo Premium, subscription status is managed by RevenueCat in accordance with their privacy policy.

We will never use your data to serve you advertisements, sell it to data brokers, or share it with third parties for marketing purposes.

3 Data Storage & Security

The security of your personal data is important to us. Here is how we handle it:

• Local-first storage: Your meal logs, scores, and progress data are stored on your device using secure local storage. This data does not leave your device unless you explicitly choose to back it up.
• Meal photo processing: Photos are transmitted to our AI service over an encrypted HTTPS connection and are immediately discarded after analysis. We do not store your food photos.
• Account data: If you create an optional account, your data is stored on secure servers with encryption at rest and in transit.
• Subscription data: Payment processing and subscription management is handled entirely by RevenueCat and Apple. We never receive your payment card details.

While we implement industry-standard security measures, no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure. We encourage you to keep your device software up to date.

4 Third-Party Services

Momo uses a small number of trusted third-party services to deliver the app experience. Each is governed by their own privacy policies:

• Google Gemini AI: Processes your meal photos for food group analysis. Google's privacy policy applies to this processing. Photos are not retained after analysis.
• RevenueCat: Manages in-app subscription status and purchase verification. RevenueCat does not receive your payment details — those remain with Apple.
• Apple App Store: Governs the distribution of the Momo app and any in-app purchases made through iOS.

We do not integrate any advertising networks, social media trackers, or data broker services into Momo.

5 Your Rights

You have the following rights regarding your personal data. To exercise any of these rights, please contact us at privacy@trymomo.app.

• Access: You have the right to request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
• Correction: You have the right to request that we correct any inaccurate personal data we hold.
• Deletion: You have the right to request that we delete your personal data. You can also delete all locally stored data at any time by uninstalling the app.
• Portability: You have the right to request your data in a portable, machine-readable format.
• Objection: You have the right to object to certain types of processing, such as analytics.
• Withdrawal of consent: Where we rely on consent to process your data, you may withdraw that consent at any time.

If you are a resident of the European Economic Area (EEA), you also have rights under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). If you are a California resident, you have rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA).

6 Children's Privacy

Momo is not directed to children under the age of 13 (or 16 in the EEA). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under these ages. If you believe we have inadvertently collected information from a child, please contact us at privacy@trymomo.app and we will promptly delete it.

The app may be used by families, but parental supervision is recommended for younger users. The core features of Momo do not require account creation and can be used anonymously by anyone.

7 Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or for legal, operational, or regulatory reasons. When we make material changes, we will:

• Update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page
• Notify you through a notice in the Momo app
• Where required by law, seek your consent before implementing the changes

Your continued use of Momo after any changes to this Privacy Policy constitutes your acceptance of the updated terms.
